I have a bitch that is in her third week of gestation and i am aware that you do not treat a pregnant dog for fleas and was wondering about worming her whilst she is gestating. Is this safe to use normal wormer like Drontal or is there a special wormer to use for this.

Can anyone tell me which is more important, a stud dog's pedigree or its physical similarities to a potential mating partner.
My Springer spaniel is quite small for the breed and i have found an excellent Stud with a good pedigree but he is a lot bigger than she is and I'm concerned about the size of the pups and any possible problems she may have with whelping if they are large.

Is it normal for a bitch to come away from the puppies in the first week? My Retreiver is reluctant to stay with them for too long, and in some cases has to be instruted and laid down to tend to them. She doesn't like the heat much at the best of times and even with a fan on them I can't encourage her to stay unless I sit with her. Puppies are perfectly healthy and are putting on weight well, but her distancing from the pups concerns me.

my bitch had a litter of 5 in feb this year, she is a gsd, when should i think about another litter from her. She is very fit and healthy.

Can you tell me at what time during her season is it best to mate a bitch. I wish to put my dog to stud and there seems to be differant idea's regarding the best time for the bitch to be ready.

Hello, I have a British bulldog which I am thinking of allowing him to become a stud, however do they have to be registered by the kennel club first to allow them to be a stud dog? I do have his registration form to send off but not sure if its too late now as he's now two years old? but everywhere I go with him people ask me if I stud him out? as they say hes such a good example of his breed.

I decided to change my german shepherd bitch's dried food because she is quite hyperactive and thought if i put her on a low protein food it might calm her down,after a week on low protein food it's too early to tell if it will make a difference but i have noticed that she is always hungry,just wondered if it was because of the low protein content, i have reduced her from 22% to 18%
